Europe.

I haven’t cancelled my flight because that’ll mean it’s all really happening. While the 22 inside me wants to take on London, Dublin and Paris for another round, the adult inside of me thinks it would be a waste of money. Why would I repeat a trip I’ve already done? Sure, we’d add in an extra city, but let’s be honest, we all know how it’ll end. I’ll give you a hint, I fell down a flight of stairs, lost my phone and almost lost my best friend at the airport in Paris. Okay, that sounds worse than the whole thing was, but you get the point. When given the chance to repeat something, chances are we’ll make the same mistakes. Do you really think we can be sober in Dublin on St. Patrick’s Day?

On the flip side, we’re doing so much more for so much less. I have two trips to San Francisco squared away which is a lovely start. We’re spending the beginning of February in Hawaii. Strange, considering how much I dislike the beach and everything associated with it. I do, however, love cute boys with tans on surf boards. After that becomes San Francisco part deux, then good ol’ Seattle with a road trip to Vancouver. Not too long after we’re back home, it’s time to get down and dirty in Nashville. We’ll close the year with a trip to the VooDoo Music Festival in good ol’ New Orleans, and wrap it all up with our annual trip to Boston in November.

It sounds like a lot, but considering we usually spend an average of 4 days a month out of town, it’s actually less than we usually do. I’m so grateful that I have a best friend who can up and leave as much as I can. If any of you want to come along, feel free to let me know, we’d love to have you. Otherwise, I’m sure there will be plenty of Vegas trips in between all of the others. Anyone who has been to Vegas with me will tell you it’s always a good (and incredibly cheap) adventure.

I can’t stand people who need the start of a new year to set goals for themselves, because they’re often the same people that stop showing up at the gym two weeks into January. (Don’t even get me started on how busy my gym was today.) However, I will admit that 2012 is off to a stellar start. I feel better about the new trips and life in general. I’m finally feeling like myself again and I hope you’re all doing well, I sincerely do.
